Catering A Bar Mitzvah
Event planning and management is one of the extra services we provide upon request here at The Royal Maid Service in North Pinellas. This is because it is a natural fit and I enjoy the opportunity to provide additional services to our customers.
In my previous life back in England, my mother owned a number of bars, pubs and restaurants, so from an early age I learned about catering and organizing functions. When Wendy, one of my cleaning clients, asked the ladies who cleaned her home if they could help with her sons Bar Mitzvah, they said, “sure, Susanne can do it.” Wendy made the call and we began planning out the party.
Wendy had already decided the theme of the party, the location and how she wanted to cater the event. It was to be held outdoors in a nature park in Clearwater and the theme was Nature. We visited the park and discussed options for the event, met with the park officials and started to make plans. I said I would help Wendy in any way she needed.
Event Planning Is About Details
Event planning is all about the details. When I met with Wendy, I had a long list of items that need to be addressed and we went over each with a fine tooth comb. We went through fine details from color of table cloths and center pieces to arrangement of food delivery; we worked together to each have an action list. I stayed in close communication with Wendy, emailing her the action items of the meeting and progress. I liaised with the restaurant to provide food and equipment, purchased drinks, paper goods, organized the deserts and staff for the evening.
On the day of the event I with my friend Gleanne. We set up the tables and serving tables, drinks and prepared the deserts. We transformed a dull looking class room to an elegant dining room. Through the evening we served the food (prepared by the Leos restaurant in Palm Harbor), cleaned up the tables and transformed the room for dancing.
My Approach To Event Planning
My approach to event planning is very customer focused and I can help as little or as much as needed. I can help find the venue and suggest themes, arrange all the catering and run the event or just provide staffing for the event. I offer a flexible approach and I my involvement can change as needed.
